ABOUT THE ROLE
 
Build a data warehouse to hold all transactional data. Building ETL procedures which take data from multiple sources and update a central data warehouse.  It is from this data warehouse this data will be visualised within Tableau.
Some of the data sources are difficult to ETL in a conventional manner, so the you will be required to think latterly when looking at all data transfer solutions.
 
DUTIES
  • Scope out each of the required ETL processes
  • Build a data warehouse, based on a pre-agreed schema, which will ingest all data inputs from internal CRM, APIs and third-party applications
  • Lead the migration of existing data into the SQL data warehouse
  • Supervise the setup DB platform (Azure) and data flows to ensure reliable data delivery through a robust data transfer processes
  • Ensure the integrity of the database estate and design and build adequate back-up solutions
  • Ensure that services and components meet and continue to meet all agreed data delivery performance targets and service levels
  • Document all data transfer processes
  • Build relevant audit trail of data changes
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The ability to transfer, transform and manipulate data in database environment is the key measure of success in this role as is the ability to understand the cross-dependencies of data within the business. You will need to gain knowledge on how, when & why data is used and updated.  Working across a wide internal audience.
  • Expereince of building a datawarehouse from scratch - Azure Database  
  • MS SQL Developer (SSIS/SSRS/C#)
  • Advanced Excel skills (VBA)
  • Coding experience in the following languages R, Java, Python
  • ETL experience via APIs
