Are you ready to lead a dynamic team and drive technological operational excellence for some of Tamaki Makaurau’s iconic cultural organisations in the heart of one of Aotearoa’s most vibrant cities? Our Client is seeking a visionary Digital Dev Ops Manager to join their Digital team. In this pivotal role, you will continue the evolution of technology operations play a crucial role in delivering exceptional digital support to our diverse community across Auckland.

He angitūtanga: The Opportunity
The purpose of this role is to develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy aligned with the companies objectives. As the Tech Ops Leader, you will lead a cross-functional DevOps team, with a focus on supporting SAAS solutions, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Your responsibilities will include identifying and addressing bottlenecks and inefficiencies in development and operational processes, evaluating and implementing DevOps tools to enhance productivity, reliability, and security, and establishing robust monitoring and metrics systems for performance tracking. Managing security and compliance practices, vendor relationships, and budget related to DevOps initiatives are also key aspects of this role. Additionally, you will provide regular reports on DevOps progress, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, building trust and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders and team members. Proficiency in consultative approaches, demonstrating empathy and positive engagement while navigating technical and non-technical groups is critical to showcase adaptability and flexibility while at the same time thrive in dynamic environments. Additionally, the leadership style should prioritize results-oriented approaches, delegation, and empowerment, while also displaying political acumen and sensitivity.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification at the degree level in Computer Science or Information Technology, preferably a Masters degree.
  • Over 15 years of proven experience in delivering results within highly complex IT environments.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in leading a large functional team within a large multidisciplinary and complex organization.
  • Disciplined approach to managing significant budgets and establishing effective systems and processes for financial monitoring.
  • Profound understanding of local government functions, statutory requirements, and current and future business drivers.
