About the Digital Products & Services Team
The Digital Products and Services Team enables Wellington Water’s business outcomes through the provision of data, information, and technology services and solutions. Their mission is to make sure Wellington Water has trusted information for decision making when, where and how it’s needed. To achieve this mission for a growing Wellington Water team and work programme they are building in-house digital capability.
About the Role
The Team Lead, Data Quality (Asset Data Management), manages Three Waters asset data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Collaborating with Digital Products and Services, the role prioritises activities related to asset data access, ingestion, improvement, and documentation. Fostering team engagement and collaboration, the position aligns efforts to achieve high-quality, accessible asset data using digital tools and technologies to streamline processes.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Lead collaboration to support the development, delivery, and reporting of workplans
- Provide data and asset management subject matter expertise for the development of digital products and services to support the delivery of product outcomes
- Guide and lead a team in creating workplans and progress reports, ensuring alignment and providing direction
- Approve workplans for execution and closely monitor their progress
- Establish and implement asset data frameworks, standards, policies, and processes
- Advocate for industry-standard based frameworks, continually improving data sets, and promoting the use of authoritative datasets across the organisation
- Proactive issue management and effective resource allocation, ensuring the team operates cohesively and efficiently to achieve organisational goals

About Your Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership and teambuilding experience in a cross-functional environment
- Relationship management experience in a complex business and stakeholder environment utilising strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in infrastructure, utilities or network-focused data and information management, including development of processes and standards
- Proficient with enterprise asset management systems, data models, databases, and drafting software
- Familiarity with geospatial platforms e.g., InfoAsset, Maximo, and ESRI products
- Knowledge of asset management, data management, and information management frameworks and practices
- Strength in critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt easily to change
