ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to support the Data Architecture stream in ensuring Auckland Unlimited strategic goals are optimised by evolving effective Enterprise Data Management using enterprise data standards for data warehousing, data lake, data management and other corporate databases.The Data Engineer plays a key role in co-designing, developing, maintaining, and improving enterprise data assets, systems, and data integration pipelines to support the data strategy of the business.

DUTIES

•Analyze and organize raw data, conduct complex data analysis, Interpret trends and patterns, and report on results
•Build data systems and pipelines as well as algorithms and prototypes
•Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling
•Evaluate business needs and objectives
•Develop analytical tools and programs
•Collaborate with data analysts and architects on several projects

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

•Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role (3 or more years)
•Technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
•Hands-on experience with data manipulation and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Java, and Python)
•Hands-on experience with SQL database design
•Working experience with on-premises, public cloud (Azure, AWS) and SAS hosted data management platforms
•Good knowledge of one or more data warehousing applications that may include Oracle, PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL, and Azure Data Platform technologies
